Summer Season Wrap- New Season Details

Congratulations to all teams on a great Summer 2024-25 season. Of our 54 teams, we made 17 Grand Finals and came away with a massive 14 Grand Final wins. Whilst not our primary goal, it's great to see some many Eagles families enjoying success on the final day of the season.
Well done to everyone involved and thanks for all the support from parents, coaches and players.
Special thank you to all our VOLUNTEER coaches. The quality of basketball being played has certainly improved and it shows through our success but also with the many players returning for more basketball next season.
Speaking of next season, teams are in the final stages of being allocated. As always, the Grading Committee will allocate players to teams based on Coaches Feedback, observations at games during the season, performance during skills Session (under 14s only) and consideration of member special requests. Our focus and priority has and always will be on a player and club first basis. We do our very best to make everyone happy but this is not always possible but our intent is to always get as many kids playing as possible and allocate coaches to teams that suit the majority of players.
As we have done the past few seasons, Rob Dielemans our Director of Coaching has appointed 1st side coaches for Winter 2025. It was great to see coaches put their hand up again for these roles but to also have others throw their hat in the ring to coach our 1st sides.
So... on to team notifications for Winter 2025.
As you will hopefully be aware the first game is on Saturday 26th April. And with Easter Monday in the same week, we are unlikely to train before game 1 of grading. Team notifications will be done differently this season. South East Eagles will not be publishing teams and training times online, instead each player / parent will be contacted by your childs new coach with details of the first game and advice on the team allocated for each player. Coaches will not be able to speak to individual team allocations so please refrain from discussing the team composition with them. All players will be required to attend the first game and training the following week, with any issues to be emailed to seegrading@gmail.com. The grading committee will get back to you as soon as possible.
Team Notification process and Dates.
Friday 11th April 2025
Coaches will be advised of their coaching appointment for Winter 2025 with a proposed training date and time. Coaches will have until 5pm Monday 14th April 2025 to advise of any issues with training venue and time.
Wednesday 16th April
Coaches will be provided with Team list and contact numbers and will be asked to contact players / parents advising them of team placement and training venue and time. (This would be an ideal time to set up a team chat for communication throughout the season). All players are to be notified by Friday 18th April.
Monday 21st April
Any registered player not contacted to email see.secretary@gmail.com to confirm the allocated team.

The Grading Committee will respond to and address any concerns or issues submitted via email.
WE still have a number of teams without coaches! We are keen to hear from members who may want to start coaching. We have some of the best coaches in the association and have a great network of support through our Director of Coaching and now with Knox Basketball working hard to improve coach education.
